Bla Bla Bla

Those pundits insist that the US should talk with Syria. All they do is preach, if only they understood the Syrian regime.

Here's a piece of today's laughable NY Times editorial "The Road To Damascus"
Chipping away at Lebanon’s sovereignty or Israel’s security to win Syria’s good will would, of course, be a disastrous mistake. But without crossing those red lines it might be possible for Washington to wean Damascus away from its alliance of convenience with Tehran. Syria and Iran are not natural or inevitable allies.
Of course, it's not the editorial's job to think how this is feasible. The NY Times forgot to mention that the Syrians try to sell, for a high price, water for fires they cause themselves, then they don't deliver.

They're duplicitous and unreliable, and frankly, their only remaining strong card is their alliance with Iran.
