A bunch of intelligent young Arabs have invented our very own YouTube/Flickr. Is it worth a try?


YouTube and Flickr have taken the world by storm, but they have a serious problem: So many people use them that even making innocent queries can literally inundate you with ads, spam, and irrelevant content.

Enter Ikbis, an Arab version of the above programs.

You might be asking: "Does the world really need another Youtube?"

For a start, the website has just launched and it's a chance for instant fame. A Lebanese girl has already shot herself dancing in her room and sent it, sparking the curiosity of hundreds of viewers. Also, the content can be more relevant to you as an Arab.

The Website is now in its beta version, it's still a bit clunky, but knowing the people behind it, I'm sure it will end up being just about right.
